 Episode Summary

Cal Lightman, a world-renowned deception detector and co-founder of The Lightman Group, takes on a case where a teenage boy is accused of murdering his teacher. With partner Gillian Foster, a psychologist who focuses more on why people are lying while Lightman spots the lies themselves, the two try to dig through the lies and find out who the real murderer is. Also working for The Lightman Group is newcomer Ria Torres, a "natural" who can spot lies but has not had any formal training with microexpressions or the science of deception detection, and Eli Loker, an analyst who practices "radical honesty" in which he speaks every thought that comes to mind, no matter how innapropriate.
